Welcome

Hello,

Welcome to the Regal Dance Clubs. Please feel free to give us a call and we will do our best to answer any questions that you might have regarding dance.

Dance for Fun, for Love, for Life!

Regal Dance Clubs was established and opened in 2011 in York, PA and we are conveniently located just off Route 30 in the West Manchester section of York. Regal Dance Clubs is a locally owned and operated dance studio.

“Absolutely loved our classes here! Elizabeth is a wonderful instructor, and took great care of us. If a large, ungainly man with inner ear problems such as myself can manage to learn with her and have fun, I can’t imagine anyone being unable to.”     Michael D.

“This dance studio exceeds ALL expectations! The instructors are knowledgable, talented, kind, and helpful. They go above and beyond to make sure you understand each dance and keep the perfect balance of challenging you while continuing to make everything fun. HIGHLY recommended if you’re looking to learn ballroom dancing with the most amazing people in the business.”  Sarah G.

“First ballroom dance lesson ever and my instructor made me feel very comfortable. The environment was professional and the people were friendly and welcoming. You could tell they all take pride in their art. If you have never been I highly recommend it!” Stacy J.

“I had a great experience at Regal Dance Clubs.”  Ronald M.

If you had a good experience, please let us know! We love hearing from you. Or if you would like to get information about our $35  introductory special we can provide that as well.

Benefits of Dance
According to Ruma Batheja, Dance is a form of art which exists since time immemorial in all cultures, in some or the other form. It is believed that dancing is in our DNA.

  • Dancing activates the reward centers in the human brain.
  • Dancing amazingly helps in maximizing cognitive function.
  • Dancing activates kinesthetic, rational and emotional function of the brain.
  • Our brains are wired to connect to people, even if unconsciously.  Dance springs from a human desire for personal expression and social connection thereby stimulating a bond of collaboration.
  • Dancing also improves self-confidence and self-esteem by providing an opportunity for people to express themselves.
  • A study conducted by Andrew Lane at the University of Wolverhampton shows dancing triggers the release of feel-good hormones like serotonin and endorphins. It helps in letting go the stress and worries of the past or future.

To Your Health!
Undoubtedly, dancing has some major health perks. It can give you more than traditional cardio. It increases stamina, strengthens bones and muscles, improves balance, agility, coordination, power, reactivity and speed. The findings, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, suggest that getting footloose on a regular basis is linked with a 76 percent reduction in dementia risk.

Dancing propels synchronization of the Cerebrum and Cerebellum thereby creating superfluidity. Dance has been used therapeutically for thousands of years. Research has found that using dance movements as a form of therapy activates several brain functions at once. Dancing gives the potential to accept one’s body as it is and appreciate its own beauty, movement, and rhythm. It also allows you to change the perception of yourself from worst enemy to best friend. There is a dancer in all of us. You really don’t need a thing to get started. It’s time to get your groove on. In the name of science, HR should reclaim, rebrand and embrace Dance as a tool to foster well-being. Let this neuroscience of speaking with action and movement break the stereotypes.

Frequently Asked ?

•  How do I get started?
Getting started is easy. The first step is to call and schedule an introductory lesson. During the lesson your instructor will assess your experience level, then find out your goals, and build from there.

•  What if I have “two left feet” and “no rhythm”?
Don’t worry you wont be the first person with these issues that we have taught successfully. It’s not as uncommon as you might think but both of these are learned skills. Our instructors are trained in teaching people how to use both feet correctly and also how to hear and count music. We call it dancing for dummies 101.

•  How much does it cost?
How much you choose to invest in your dance training is entirely up to you. This depends entirely on the goals you wish to accomplish and how quickly you would like to accomplish them.

•  When can I take lessons?
You can take lessons at your convenience during our normal business hours, Monday thru Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. excluding 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and select other times depending on events.

•  Do I need a partner?
No, a partner is not necessary. If you do not have a partner, your instructor will be your partner on lessons. Many of our students take as singles.
